From his position on the edge of the deck, he had an excellent view of the ground flashing past below, the trees swaying in the wind from the spinning blades of the helicopters and the wind. From here, the roar of the engines drowning out virtually all other noise; he had kept his headset unplugged on purpose. There was nothing else to say about their mission. Commissioner Betters, the man who had assigned F.E.A.R. to this mission, had covered every detail about their mission in his briefing, and he continued to go over it in his head.

"F.E.A.R., operating with several teams of Delta Force operatives, will enter the water plant located close to the Armacham Technology Corporations headquarters." Betters had then shown them a map of the plant, indicating its close proximity to the ATC's center of operations. "You will investigate the activity that has been reported there, and then proceed to the ATC facility itself." Jankowski, his teammate, had asked Betters why the activity at the plant was suspicious. "The plant has been shut down for some time, but local residents have reported a lot of activity to the authorities. They called us."

He shook his head, trying to clear his mind. He had to concentrate on his mission. Investigate the water plant, find out if the activity was linked to ATC or not, and find the missing scientists. Extraction from the facility would then be his primary concern. He had to focus.

Jin Sun-Kwon, sitting directly behind him, laid a heavy hand on his shoulder. He leaned back a bit to look at his teammate, who tapped his headset several times to indicate that he needed to plug it back in. Leaning back into the helicopter a bit, he plugged his headset into the internal communications system and keyed it up.

"Point man here," he said, still looking out at the ground below, "whats our status?"

"Sir," the pilot spoke with excitement, "we're 30 seconds out from the landing zone. Radar shows the area as clean. I see smoke rising from the water treatment plant though."

Just what they needed, he thought to himself.

"Thank you. Point man out."

Inside the Water Plant

"Sir," the soldier manning the radar terminal spoke, his face seemingly glued to the screen as he watched the radar, "we have several helicopters approaching. UH-60s."

"Black Hawks..." Paxton Fettel said, closing his eyes and tilting his head back. He let a smile slowly creep onto his lips. "So at last, they've come..." He paused, breathing slowly. "Alert the troops. They'll be inside soon."
